US House Majority Leader Hoyer: House to return on August 23 if Senate passes budget

Even as the US policymakers are hardly taking relief after haggling over weeks for the infrastructure spending passage, the House is ready for another battle, not to forget extending efforts to get the latest relief package reached on President Joe Biden’s table.

The recent comments came from the US House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer who said, per Reuters, “The US House of Representatives will return to work on Aug. 23 to consider a budget resolution if the Senate passes it first.”

As per the latest updates on the budget, per Reuters, “The Senate was debating a budget resolution Tuesday containing instructions for a multi-trillion-dollar package of spending on social programs and climate measures.”

Market implications

As the policymakers’ readiness to cut short their recess for the key decision, followed by the stimulus news, market sentiment should have been positive. However, S&P 500 Futures remain unchanged by the press time of early Wednesday morning in Asia after refreshing the record top the previous day.
