Wall Street under pressure amid earnings reports
FXStreet (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed Friday with losses and with a mixed note on the weekly basis as investors' confidence was hurt by weak earnings reports from Amazon and a poor outlook from VISA. Friday's drop dragged major indexes' previous days gains.
Late in the session, Goldman Sachs published a report saying that they are now neutral on stocks in the next three months. They expect a decline in bond yields that would lead a brief sell-off in equities.
The Dow Jones declined 123.33 points or 0.72% to finish the week at 16,960.57; 0.83% negative from Monday. The S&P 500 eased 9.64 pts or 0.48% to close at 1,978.34, 0.01% positive in the week.
The Nasdaq lost 22.54 pts or 0.50% to end Friday at 4,449.56; the Composite won 0.39% in the week.
