EU's Barnier: Possible to reach a deal on an orderly withdrawal by October

The EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier, addressing a joint press conference on Brexit in Brussels, said:

   •  With no backstop on the Irish border, there's no deal.
   •  The operational backstop is a matter of some urgency.
   •  We need more data and information on how backstop will work.
   •  Future partnership with envisioned with the UK is unprecedented.
   •  Believes it's possible to reach a deal on an orderly withdrawal by October.
