EU signs association deal with Ukraine
FXStreet (Łódź) - During the second day of the EU summit in Brussels European leaders signed the first part of the association agreement with Ukraine, aimed at giving the country economic support and promoting tighter political cooperation with Kiev.
The “political” part of the agreement has been signed today while the trade part, which is more controversial, will be signed after the Ukrainian presidential elections are held in May.
The core chapters of the Association Agreement signed today cover issues such as the terms of the future political relations between the EU and Ukraine or the setting up of an Association Council.
