NZ: Small pickup in business confidence and conditions – TDS

Analysts at TDS note that it was another small pickup in business confidence and conditions of NZ economy in March.

Key Quotes

“Business confidence was still negative at -20 (near -40 post-election last year) and activity has improved further to 22, where both are moving in the right direction. The employment net balance jumped from +5 to +10, pricing intentions from +25 to +29 while inflation expectations to remain sticky at 2.1%. With such solid underlying activity we question why rates need to stay on the floor.”
