EU's Barnier: Some issues on transition deal are not negotiable

Continuing with his earlier comments on the Brexit transition period, the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier further said:

   •  moment has come for UK to make choice on future relationship
   •  not negotiable as they go to the heart of single market rules
   •  no transition period will be possible if no withdrawal agreement
   •  transition period need to allow businesses to prepare
   •  there is no wish to punish UK
   •  sooner UK makes choices the better
   •  my attitude is not vindictive
