UK: Annual CPI up 1.9% in January
FXStreet (Barcelona) - According to data released today by National Statistics, UK annual inflation rose 1.9% in January, following 2.0% growth registered the previous month. This result is almost in line with analysts' forecasts of +2.0%. On a monthly basis CPI fell 0.6% in January, compared with the 0.4% rise in December and slightly below expectations of a 0.5% drop.
Year-over-year Core CPI grew 1.6% in January, following +1.7% in December and below projections of climbing 1.9%.
