Initial jobless claims reviewed: at historically low levels - Nomura
Analysts at Nomura offered a re-cap of the key US data from overnight.
Key Quotes:
"Initial jobless claims: Initial claims remain at historically low levels. For the week ending 1 April, initial claims fell 25k from the prior week to 234k.
Continuing claims also remained in a low range, falling 24k to 2028k in the week ending 25 March.
On a week to-week basis, claims data tend to bounce around. As labor market conditions remain healthy, we expect initial claims to remain within a low range."
