US Treasury Secretary Lew urges Congress to raise debt ceiling
FXstreet.com (Łódź) - US Treasury Secretary Jack Lew said on Thursday in an interview for CNBC that US lawmakers should increase the debt limit as soon as possible, in order to avoid hurting growth once again.
Speaking from Davos, he assured that the US economy was on the right track, but still struggling against adversities. "What we're seeing in all the economic indicators is that the trajectory of growth is rising," he stressed.
Lew also commented on the bitcoin, emphasizing the importance of making sure that the digital currency, which enables carrying out anonymous transactions, does not become an “avenue to funding illegal activities or to funding activities that have malign purposes like terrorist activities.”
