Fed's Bullard sees a single 0.25 hike over the next 2-3 years
James Bullard, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis reiterated on Thursday that he sees a single 0.25% rate hike and then extended hold.
Speaking in St Louis, Bullard, who is a voting member of the FOMC, said US economy is still in a low rate, low productivity regime.
However, Bullard didn't say anything about the timing of rate rises in his speech. Next month the FOMC will meet again and expectations of a rate hike remain alive, although the unexpected victory of Trump in the US presidential election might raise concerns among FOMC officials.
