US trade deficit in goods shrinks to $56.1B in September

 

The international trade deficit was $56.1 billion in September, down $3.1 billion, or 5.2%, from $59.1 billion in August, the US Census Bureau said Wednesday.

The reading came in above expectations of a $60.6 billion deficit. Exports of goods for September were $125.6 billion, $1.1 billion more than August exports. Imports of goods for September were $181.7 billion, $2.0 billion less than August imports.
