Canada: Wholesale sales  rise for fourth straight  month

Canadian wholesale sales rose 0.3% in July from a month earlier to a seasonally adjusted CAD 56.5 billion, Statistics Canada said Wednesday.

“Increases were recorded in five of seven subsectors, led by the motor vehicle and parts subsector and the food, beverage and tobacco subsector”, Statistics Canada reported.

The increase came in slightly above expectations of a 0.2% rise, and marked the fourth consecutive gain. In volume terms, wholesale sales were unchanged in July.
