EUR/GBP consolidates around 0.8500

EUR/GBP has been following the flat global sentiment that has been prevailing in recent sessions, gyrating around the 0.8500 handle for the time being.

EUR/GBP attention to risk trends

The European cross is navigating the upper end of the recent narrow range, with gains so far capped in the mid-0.8500s and support emerging around 0.8460, always against the backdrop of scarce volatility in both the Sterling and the shared currency.

Nothing worth mentioning data wise in Europe today, although inflation figures and consumer sentiment in the US economy could spark some bouts of volatility later in the NA session.

EUR/GBP key levels

The cross is now up 0.04% at 0.8496 and a surpass of 0.8532 (resistance line prev support) would aim for 0.8575 (61.8% Fibo of Aug-Sep drop) and then 0.8727 (2016 high Aug.16). On the other hand, the next support aligns at 0.8416 (low Sep.13) followed by 0.8329 (low Sep.6) and then 0.8248 (low Jul.14).
