UK Markit construction PMI improves further in Aug, beats estimates
The construction sector activity in the UK economy extended its rebound from seven-year lows and fared much better-than expectations in August, a fresh report from Markit Economics showed on Friday.
The final Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) in the UK jumped to 49.2 points in August, after having booked 45.9 points in July. Markets had predicted a rise to 46.6 in last month. The PMI gauge remained in contraction territory for the third straight month.
