AUD/USD hovers near 9-day lows

AUD/USD fell sharply on Wednesday, turning negative for the week, as the greenback managed to take back losses ahead of the FOMC minutes release. 

The US dollar got support from hawkish comments from two fed members, Dudley and Lockhart, as both said they expect another rate hike this year.

AUD/USD lost over 100 pips from yesterday’s peak of 0.7748 and bottomed out at a 9-day low of 0.7613 in recent dealings. At time of writing, AUD/USD is trading at 0.7623, recording a 0.91% loss on the day.

AUD/USD technical levels

In terms of technical levels, next supports are seen at 0.7615 (Aug 17 low), 0.7586 (21-day SMA) and 0.7567 (Aug 3 low). On the flip side, resistances could be found at 0.7660 (10-day SMA), 0.7707 (Aug 17 high) and 0.7748 (Aug 16 high).
