AUD/USD retreats from highs, clings to mild gains
AUD/USD has given up some of its intraday gains during the American session as the greenback stages a mild recovery across the board.
AUD/USD retreated from a peak of 0.7652 back to the 0.7615 area before finding support. The pair was last trading at 0.7620, where the aussie still clings to tiny gains.
Australian dollar advanced during the Asian session on the back of mixed domestic jobs data. Australia added 7,900 new jobs in June, missing expectations of a 10,000 gain, but the total number of jobs reached a record high while full employment rose sharply, offsetting the negative headline.
AUD/USD technical levels
In terms of technical levels, AUD/USD could find immediate supports at 0.7590 (Jul 14 low/100-hour SMA), 0.7544 (10-day SMA) and 0.7490 (21-day SMA). On the other had, resistances line up at 0.7652/57 (Jul 14 & 12 highs), 0.7719 (May 3 high) and 0.7765 (Apr 26 high).
