US stocks edge lower on turnaround Thursday

US stocks closed the day lower on Thursday, although off session lows, weighed by a drop in oil prices and the dominating risk-off tone in financial markets.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 19.73 points, or 0.11%, to 17,985.12. The S&P 500 fell 3.62 points, or 0.17%, to 2,115.50.The Nasdaq Composite dropped 16.03 points, or 0.32%, to 4,958.62.
