Japan's LDP policy chief: PM Abe to consider raising sales tax in April 2017 by 1%
The head of Japan’s ruling party, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Tomomi Inada came on the wires last hours and added to the ongoing chatter over the news reported earlier that PM Abe planning to defer sales tax hike by two and a half years.
Inada noted that she outlined a plan for a sales tax hike to PM Abe, proposing him to consider raising the sales tax in April next year by 1% and complete the hikes in stages thereafter.
Meanwhile, the USD/JPY pair keeps range near fresh five-week highs reached at 111.03 in the last hour.
