Taper's bets fuel Wall Street losses
FXstreet.com (San Francisco) - The US stocks market closed mostly lower on Tuesday as investors are wondering when the Federal Reserve is planning to begin the cuts in the bond buying program. The S&P 500 and the Dow Jones posted its first negative day in the last three.
Latest speculations talk about a tapering as soon as next meeting in December, however, it seems investors really don't care much about it as losses were minimal.
Dow Jones declined 32.43 pts or 0.21% to close the day at 15,750.67; the S&P 500 eased 4.20 pts or 0.24% to finish the session at 1,767.69; the Nasdaq Composite added 0.13% points, flat on the day.
