UK unemployment lowest since April 2008 – Investec

FXStreet (Delhi) – Research Team at Investec, notes that after the bumper jobs report across the pond last week promoted investors to finally take Federal Reserve threats of an interest rate rise seriously, yesterday we saw the UK jobs report.

“In line with its American counterpart the UK release pointed to a further tightening of the UK labour market, with unemployment in the 3 months to September dipping to 5.3%, the lowest rate of UK unemployment since April 2008. The earnings numbers were however slightly short of expectations seeing knee-jerk Sterling selling on a lack of inflationary threat building.”

US corporate debt inventories turning negative – Deutsche Bank
