Red flags for Asian equities

FXstreet.com (Chicago) – All indexes but the Kospi print losses in Asia. Amid concerns on the US debt ceiling and deficit with hard deadlines approaching and threat of a possible governmental shutdown, market participants digest poor performance in Wall Street and economic results.

In India, the Sensex is down 0.32% similarly to the S&P CNX Nifty. The Indonesian IDX retraces 1.20% along the Australian S&P/AX 200 losing 0.13%. In China, the Shanghai Composite is down 0.29% as well as the Hang Sen 40 printing 0.52% losses. The Japanese Nikkei retraces 0.97%. The only index registering gains is the Korean Kospi up 0.13% despite BoK Governor Kim Choong Soo comments on capital outflows in Asia.

USD/JPY breaks support but bounces off 98.26 lows

USD/JPY weakened at Tokyo’s opening dragged by a losing Nikkei 225 printing 1.20% lows. The pair reached 98.26 bottoms but seems to consolidate a potential reversal.
