Speculators trim bearish positions on 10-year Treasury note futures
FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the data released by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) showed speculators reduced their overall bearish positions last week. The speculator positions have been fluctuating back and forth since last few weeks.
The non-commercial futures contracts of the 10-year treasury notes, traded by large speculators and hedge funds, witnessed a weekly change of +50,672 contracts to total a net position of -132,444 contracts in the reporting period - May 5th to May 12th. The bullish bets rose by +9,600 contracts while the bearish bets dropped by -41,072 contracts.
Meanwhile, during the reporting time period, the yield on the 10-year note rose from 2.19% to 2.28%.
