EUR/GBP hits fresh 3-week highs, eyes 0.7300

FXStreet (Córdoba) - After a short lived decline, the euro regained strength and climbed further against the pound. EUR/GBP recently printed a fresh 3-week high at 0.7280.

EUR/GBP extending weekly gains

Yesterday the pair rose 50 pips and today is climbing even more, as the pound retreats in the market a week before elections in the United Kingdom.

During the European session EUR/GBP bottomed at 0.7188 but rebounded strongly, broke above 0.7225 (Apr 29 high) and jumped to 0.7265. Recently broke again the highs and currently trades at 0.7275, eyeing 0.7300, up almost 1% for the day.

Since the beginning of the week it has risen 130 pips and so far is the best weekly performance for the euro since November 2014.

EUR/USD bearish bias for the next week – BTMU

The Team at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, maintains a fundamentally bearish bias on EUR/USD for the next, expecting the pair to maintain a 1.0900-1.1400 range.
