US equities open negatively across the board

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market has incurred widespread losses Friday, with virtually all sectors and indices taking a notable fall lower.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ fell -0.32% as it settles in region of 3593.57, down -11.42 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in negative territory, operating at 1684.58, descending -5.91 points or -0.35% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening, trading in the zone of 15484.72, presently -0.48% after a movement of -74.10 points.

Sectors are all mixed at the opening, however the Technology and Basic Materials sectors have distinguished themselves as the losers thus far, falling -0.65% and -0.66% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1324.69 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $19.98 per oz. Friday.

USD/JPY breaks down 98.50 and trades at 2-week lows

The US dollar is extending its decline against the Japanese yen and after falling around 40 pips from 98.70 to break down the 98.50 and trades at 2-week lows around 98.25.
