US: Initial Jobless Claims rose to 360K
FXstreet.com (Edinburgh) - According to the Labour Department, the Americans that filed in their first initial claims for regular state unemployment-insurance benefits rose by 16K last week to a seasonally adjusted 360K in the week ended July 6, missing expectations at 340K and coming from 344K (revised) in the previous print.
Continuing claims, which reflect people already receiving benefits, increased by 24K to a seasonally adjusted 2.977 million in the week ended June 29 vs. 2.953 million in the previous week (revised).
