Treasury yields slide as US growth cools
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The Treasury yields in the US declined after the official data in showed the growth rate slowed down in the fourth quarter of 2014.
30-year yield hits record lows
The 30-year yield in the US fell to a record low of 2.243%, while the 10-year Treasury yield trades at 1.685%; down 6.8 basis points (bps). At the short-end, the 2-year yield, which mimics the short-term interest rate expectations, is down 3.6 bps to 0.484%.
The yields fell after the data released in the US showed gross domestic product climbed by 2.6% in the fourth quarter following the 5.0% jump seen in the third quarter. Economists had expected a print of 3.00%.
