US equities open softly, Dow cannot sustain 15000

FXstreet.com (New York) - The US stock market paused slightly Tuesday, in some cases consolidating yesterday’s steadfast gains as the USD makes a rally across global markets.

In the United States, the Redbook Index (YoY) (June 23) yielded a figure of +2.9%, compared with a figure of +2.8% previously. Moreover, the Redbook Index (MoM) (June 23) came in at -0.5%, matching a previous result.

Beginning with the indices and composites, the NASDAQ rose +0.23% as it settles in region of 3442.38, up +7.89 points in these moments. In addition, the S&P 500 is trading in positive territory, operating at 1618.66, ascending +4.12 points or +0.26% at the time of writing. Finally, the Dow Jones has moved lower at the opening, trading in the zone of 14971.15, presently -0.03% after a movement of -3.81 points.

Sectors are all mixed at the opening, however the Consumer Cyclicals and Energy sectors have distinguished themselves as the winners thus far, gaining +0.47% and +0.22% respectively. Moreover, the price of gold has settled at $1254.53 per oz., while silver is now negotiating a spot price of $19.61 per oz. Tuesday.
