German rate of inflation continued to fall in December

FXStreet (Mumbai) - As per the data released by Destatis today, German CPI in December was 0.25 year-on-year, its lowest level since October 2009.

The details reveal energy prices fell by 6.6%, while food prices eased slightly in December. Prices of goods eased declined 1.2%, while that of services gained 1.4%. The average consumer prices in 2014 rose 0.9%. Moreover, the rate of year-on-year price increase has been decreasing since 2011. A lower annual average rate of price increases was last seen in 2009, when the inflation grew 0.3%.
