EUR/CAD loses 400 pips in 2 days

FXStreet (Córdoba) - EUR/CAD dropped further on Thursday on the back of a weak euro and bottomed at 1.4231. During the last hours the pair has been consolidating, moving in a range with support around 1.4230 and resistance below 1.4280.

On Asian hours the pair was trading above 1.4350 but broke below previous lows and then accelerated under 1.4320 on the European session.

EUR/CAD retreats sharply from 4-month highs

Two days ago the pair climbed to 1.4642, reaching the strongest level since August 11, but it was rejected from 1.4600 and started to make a bearsih correction. On Wednesday dropped dramatically and continue to decline on Thursday.

From weekly highs EUR/CAD lost 400 pips and is now back at the same level it had at the beginning of the month.

A collective of analysts at The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. explained that the US dollar is set to record its’ strongest performance in a calendar year since 1997 according to the Federal Reserve’s trade-weighted index against a basket of major currencies which has increased by around 10% so far in 2014.
